I don't use Evolution against the Exchange server regularly anymore (due to the thread id algorithm which seems to be incompatible with MS Outlook). I just created a test mail and Evolution (2.22.3.1) didn't explode. The problems (this, as well as https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evolution/+bug/59) seems to occur (only) when I start to compose a new message and have entered the password for the global addressbook (provided by MS AD server). The problems persists then until the Evolution process (and it's childs / service processes) are killed.
