[Bug 229238] Re: segfault at 10 when using xdmcp
I'm sorry I didn't follow up on this one. Coincidentally I upgraded from gutsy to hardy yesterday and found that this problem no longer exists, that is, I can normally logon using xdmcp. Must have been fixed somewhre along the way. thanks, Bart. -- segfault at 10 when using xdmcp https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/229238 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 229238] Re: segfault at 10 when using xdmcp
Jason, please do not attach .crash files to the reports, instead follow the instructions Sebastien posted on comment https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-settings- daemon/+bug/229238/comments/2 ; thanks. ** Attachment removed: Crash log from apport http://launchpadlibrarian.net/15097879/_usr_lib_gnome-settings- daemon_gnome-settings-daemon.5491.crash -- segfault at 10 when using xdmcp https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/229238 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 229238] Re: segfault at 10 when using xdmcp
could you try to obtain a backtrace http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProgramCrash and attach the file to the bug report? ** Changed in: gnome-control-center (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided = Medium Status: New = Incomplete -- segfault at 10 when using xdmcp https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/229238 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 229238] Re: segfault at 10 when using xdmcp
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. However, your crash report is either missing or challenging to deal with as a .crash file. Please follow these instructions to have apport report a new bug about your crash that can be dealt with by the automatic retracer. If you are running the Ubuntu Stable Release you might need to enable apport in /etc/default/apport and restart. If you are using Ubuntu with the Gnome desktop environment - launch nautilus and navigate to your /var/crash directory and double click on the crash report you wish to submit. If you are using Kubuntu or Xubuntu you can file the crash using /usr/share/apport/apport-qt --crash-file=/var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash in a terminal - where _my_crash_report.crash is the crash you would like to report. I'm closing this bug report since the process outlined above will automatically open a new bug report which can then dealt with more efficiently. Thanks in advance for your cooperation and understanding. ** Changed in: gnome-control-center (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided = Medium Assignee: (unassigned) = Ubuntu Desktop Bugs (desktop-bugs) Status: New = Invalid -- segfault at 10 when using xdmcp https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/229238 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 229238] Re: segfault at 10 when using xdmcp
open a bug on apport then, get it fixed and use it to send a bug or attach a debug stacktrace to this bug but using apport would be better ** Changed in: gnome-settings-daemon (Ubuntu) Status: New = Invalid -- segfault at 10 when using xdmcp https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/229238 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
