Please check whether the User folders update startup program (xdg-
user-dirs-gtk-update) has been disabled.

If yes, please re-enable it via System - Preferences - Sessions -
Startup Programs.

This is a problem for me, as I can not find the Trash folder to retrieve some
documents! I found the icons at
/usr/share/icons/Human/48x48/places/user-trash.png
/usr/share/icons/Human/48x48/places/xfce-trash_empty.png
but could not get nautilus to change noname (I am a user, not a programmer)

Here are some other posts which might be relevant:

You can still get to the trash by opening a Nautilus window and then
selecting Go-Trash from the window's menu.

I'm not sure if this works if Nautilus is in spatial mode, but in
Ubuntu's default mode it works.

Since I preferred the default setup, where the Trash Icon was available
at the bottom right corner of the lower panel, here's what I did:

1. On an empty space at the Desktop, right-click and Create Launcher...
2. Type: Location ; Name: Trash ; Location: trash:/// ; Comment:
_anything_you_want_
3. Then Ok. Now you have a launcher on the Desktop.
4. Drag the launcher you just created to the lower panel.
5. Move it to the right-most corner, where it was supposed to be.
6. Right click on that new panel launcher and go to Properties.
7. Click on the Icon box so that you could change the icon to what it's
supposed to be.
8. A dialog should come up where you have options of a few icons. Copy-paste
this to the URL box [/usr/share/icons/Human/48x48/places/user-trash.png] For
some reason, clicking browse and going to that location does not work. The
files don't appear, even after showing hidden files.
9. Click Ok.

It's been working for me for a day now. Hope this helps.
