Wow, first of all thanks for replying, amazing work you guys are doing. I really appreciate it. Ubuntu is fantastic. I did further investigating and the problem was a kind of clash between flash and gstreamer ( I think). When YouTube was playing Rhythmbox and/or Movie Player wouldn't work properly/not at all. Same vice versa. Close one and the other worked fine. I googled it, found a page identifying the problem, and downloaded something via Terminal. Libflash I think, but not sure. Hope that helps.
