Dear Daniel, as discribed above you just have to uninstall the nfs-kernel-server 1:1.0.7-3ubuntu1 and install server 2.2beta47-20 both are already in synaptic. I guess in the univers section. @ Fabio yes. cause this works fine. I can share nfs and samba at the same time over gnome gui without problems if i use user server 2.2beta47-20. All the problems i described are gone with this version. But i only testet it on german ubuntu5.10 16 + 32 and hoary. the 2 nfs implementations are just different and they were never supposed to be compatible in that sense. If gnome can't cope with one of them, either gnome needs to be fixed or Depends: directly on the one that is able to talk to.
