[Bug 261757] Re: nautilus does not open *.svg files directly

2008-09-18 Thread Sebastien Bacher
that's because the svg is a text format and since it's set as something
which can be run nautilus can't determine for sure if that's a command
or some text and that's why it's asking, that's not a nautilus bug

[Bug 261757] Re: nautilus does not open *.svg files directly

2008-08-28 Thread danieloarso
I listed the partitions badly, here it goes:

IDE DISK 1
/sda1 (ntfs)/windows SP2 and programs
/sda2 (ntfs)/all data I work with
IDE DISK 2
/sdb1 (ext3/ubuntu 8.04 spanish
No raid is made

So the *.svg files are stored in several different folders but always in second
partition
example: /sda2/film/logos/logo1.svg

I rarely use windows boot only to make important, or heavy, word or excell
documents
(as I get lots of errors in ooo)

I'm the only user in Ubuntu and windows

Athlon 1300, 756 ram, Radeon 7500 (dualview)
No compiz effects

I also have the Aspire One 150AB with Ubuntu 8.04 Spanish installed. Currently
I work with a programmer friend which has same model and we're trying to get
ubuntu optimized.

Same problem with Inkscape with only one IDE disk and these partitions
/sda0?(fat 32)/hiden recovery
/sda1 (ntfs)/windows SP2 and programs
/sda2 (ext3)/ubuntu 8.04 spanish

Compiz works perfectly in my Aspire One, and Open Arena moves at
approximately 21-22 fps so I think that video card wouldn't be the
problem

Don't understand what do you mean by permissions, but hope it helps
Regards,
Dan

the files stored on microsoft filesystems are marked as can be run
which trigger a similar dialog, that's a filesystem limitation, do you
get the bug when storing the file on an ext3 directory?

[Bug 261757] Re: nautilus does not open *.svg files directly

2008-08-28 Thread danieloarso
You got that!
I've just realized that a *.svg file in my ubuntu desktop and it opens directly
However I need to have dual boot (for now), so data partition has to be ntfs
(or fat 32...)
Other programs *.doc, *.pdf... don't have this problem
I use Inkscape a lot, and like it much, but I see it has to improve

Dan

[Bug 261757] Re: nautilus does not open *.svg files directly

2008-08-27 Thread danieloarso
I store them in a different IDE disk, in a different partition for dual
boot (but all *.svg files I generate come from Inkscape sdb1):

/sda1(ntfs)/windows
/sda2(ntfs)/data
/sdb1(ext3)/ubuntu
