Martijn vdS, can you check if the workaround Paul O'Keefe describes in his comment (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/rhythmbox/+bug/316007/comments/3) works for you? Furthermore, the upstream bug (http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=582453) has been closed because there was no one else stating that he/she is suffering from this bug. Just like to add I've found the same problem using a Samsung T10. This used to work fine in Intrepid. Create the following file: .is_audio_player -- audio_folders=MUSIC folder_depth=2 output_formats=application/ogg,audio/mpeg use mtp-sendfile .is_audio_player .is_audio_player to transfer file to root of Mp3 player Jaunty version of Rhythmbox now stores files in the MUSIC folder. Mine is still not storing in folder structure. Working through that right now to determine if there is additional configuration to be done. I had not used MTP protocol under Ubuntu prior to this week, but I still have a clean Intrepid install and will test same there.
