Distrib : Xubuntu Intrepid

/usr/share/applications/brasero.desktop seems correct. However brasero
does not launch when clicking on the menu icon.

(Besides I don't understand where the icon label comes from. It says
Gravure de CD / DVD, which is not what is written in the .desktop
file. (Gravure de disque Brasero) Would there be another .desktop file
involved ?)

What version of Xfce are you running?

I am using version 4.4.3-0ubuntu1~intrepid1 which I'm now figuring out
is a backported version as well.

is there anything on the ~/.xsession-errors file ?

No.

2010-03-02 Thread Simon Butcher
i also have the issue with brasero -e not starting on jaunty, however,
apparently it is fixed upstream and in karmic (assuming 2.28)
I fixed it in master and will backport it in 2.28 series.

2010-03-02 Thread Jerome
True. This is fixed upstream. Using 2.28.2 on karmic here, and brasero
-e works fine.

Again, I believe the modification, on jaunty, of the desktop files as I
suggested above is perfectly safe.

What version of Xfce are you running? The screenshot given,
http://www.xfce.org/images/about/screenshots/4.6-2.png, is for Xfce 4.6,
I think. You can use 'apt-cache policy xfce4-session' in a terminal or
click on the Menu - About Xfce, Info tab to find out for sure.

Indeed. The screenshots for version 4.4 didn't show the menu as I wanted
to for the purpose of my example, and I didn't think it would be
confusing.

No.

I'm talking about the panel applet that is called Xfce menu.
(Uper left on that screenshot :
http://www.xfce.org/images/about/screenshots/4.6-2.png)

It goes like Menu - Multimédia - Gravure de CD / DVD

I think I read somewhere this menu is created based on those .desktop
files. I might be wrong. Anyway, clicking here should at least run
brasero. (It used to on previous versions.)

2009-03-02 Thread Charlie Kravetz
Thanks for reporting this issue. I have attempted this in both 32bit and
64bit Xubuntu Intrepid 8.10. I can not reproduce this issue using
English. Perhaps it is a translation issue? What language are you using?
Did you modify the brasero.desktop file at all? Thanks in advance.

I'm using 32 bits Interpid

Perhaps it is a translation issue? What language are you using?

I'm using french but I don't see how it could be language dependent.

Did you modify the brasero.desktop file at all?

Not before noticing the issue. Anyway I just reinstalled (through
synaptic) and the issue persists. (Still nothing in ~/.xsession-errors).

Perhaps I could go further into the debugging if I had a documentation
explaining how the Xfce menu is created from the .desktop files.
