I can't confirm it right away in Karmic, because neither of the boxes where I'm trying to use run Karmic. I may try to get two live-cd's later to test that. But the boxes now run Jaunty, so I can confirm it in that: it's chopping exactly the same way as it did in Intrepid. And I just spotted a small error in my original report: where I said “Ekiga”, I really meant “Exaile”. But the application does not really matter; if it is a gstreamer app, it suffers of this problem.
