Just wanted to add that this is still the case in the RC. Will a fix for this make it into the relaease, or will the normalization plugin have to be disabled by default? I was hoping something might have come with some of the gstreamer bad plugin updates I've seen over the last couple weeks. When this feature made it into Brasero a while back, it brought me back to Gnome from KDE and K3B. I have the same problem in Jaunty beta 32 bit. Update: No, it doesn't work either on another machine with an internal disk drive. Found a workaround: Its easy to disable normalize since it's a plugin. Just chose Plugins from the Edit-Menu and clear checkbox beneath Normalize.
