Public bug reported: Binary package hint: libgtk2.0-0
After upgrading to Ubuntu 9.04: For any GTK2 and Gnome Application: If I try to open a file (that is the GTK2-File-Selector should appear), it takes about 25-30 seconds until the file-dialogue really opens. Top says that the CPU usage is negligible while waiting for the dialogue. The system seems to just do nothing during that time. Theme is default, that is: Human. But I tried other themes as well with the same result. This one is a real bad one (to my opinion) as it affects the usability of dozens of programs to near unusability. Machine here is a DualCore AMD X2 3800+ 4GB Ram. In short: ====== Expected: Opening of the GTK2-Fileselector in fractions of a second (as it was before) What happend: Takes a time-period of at least 25 seconds until it opens.
