Ubuntu 9.10, Evolution 2.26.1 If there are special characters in http links (I only tested "ø") Evolution does not recognize whole link. E.g http://exent.net/~canidae/gutt_møter_jente.jpg stops at: http://exent.net/~canidae/gutt_m where this part is blue, and øter_jente.jpg is grey.
