In my opinion, the new version sacrifices functionality in order to achieve this. Now, clicking the icon hides the notes, even if the notes are behind other windows. What this means is that there is no way to make your notes visible, besides minimizing the windows in front of them, or minimizing your notes, waiting a second, then un-minmizing them (you must wait to avoid the double-click, which creates a new note). This frustrates me to no end, and has forced me to stop using this applet. I answer the phone a lot, and need to quickly get my notes to the front and jot things down. There is currently no way to do this. I suggest adding a preference for what to do on single-clicks (or double-clicks).
