You have been subscribed to a public bug:

Ubuntu 9.04
Linux 2.6.28-13-generic

No matter what application I start, I cannot get it to open a new web
page. This bug is a bit hard to describe, so I'll do so by example:

In nautilus, go to Help > Get Help Online. Nothing will happen.
In xchat, select a link to open it. Nothing will happen.
In any application, go to Report A Problem. When it tries to open a new browser
window, nothing happens. No error message, nothing.

In Prefered Applications, I have Firefox set as the default app. I tried this
also with Opera, but it still did not work.
I can run the specified firefox default command from the command line to open a
new tab, no problems there.

I'm quite confused, as I can't seem to pin down this bug to any particular app.

I first noticed this bug while using xchat a few weeks ago. However, I
just did a fresh install of Jaunty a few weeks ago so I'm not sure if it
was working in the first place.
