This is happening for me as well in Hardy Heron 8.04. Can't really explain it... [Seems to be a related bug, when trying to start it will ask for a password display starting administrative application in the window list and then it disappears and nothing happens this is in Feisty Herd2 all current updates installed (1/18/2007).] I'm having same issue here with Hardy 8.04.
