[Bug 439846] Re: brasero 2.28.0-0ubuntu1 breaks DVD playback

2009-10-01 Thread Pedro Villavicencio
Thanks for the report, the commit you're pointing to is
http://git.gnome.org/cgit/brasero/commit/?h=gnome-2-28id=12ada48e177640310960ed63e6b74307686acfc7
;i don't think that might cause the issue, but would be nice to test it,
could you please revert that commit localy and test ? Thanks. BTW i have
the same version installed and DVD playback works great here.

[Bug 439846] Re: brasero 2.28.0-0ubuntu1 breaks DVD playback

2009-10-01 Thread Klaus Doblmann
Thanks, Pedro, I'll try that tomorrow if I can get into GIT that soon -
haven't really worked with it yet...

However there are multiple guys experiencing these problems, see this
post (and the thread associated with it):
http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p=807postcount=27

It might not have been that exact commit (even though it touches the
parts of DVD-playback making trouble) but it's definitely that
libbrasero-media0-update that broke things for many people.

[Bug 439846] Re: brasero 2.28.0-0ubuntu1 breaks DVD playback and disrupts CD/DVD operation

2009-10-01 Thread Klaus Doblmann
Another update: I changed the description of the bug because the bug
affects much more stuff. My brother wasn't able to burn CDs or install
programs in Wine until he reverted to version 2.27.92-0ubuntu2. Other
guys are reporting mounting errors and/or problems when copying data
from or burning to CDs/DVDs.

** Summary changed:

- brasero 2.28.0-0ubuntu1 breaks DVD playback
+ brasero 2.28.0-0ubuntu1 breaks DVD playback and disrupts CD/DVD operation

[Bug 439846] Re: brasero 2.28.0-0ubuntu1 breaks DVD playback and disrupts CD/DVD operation

2009-10-01 Thread Doug McMahon
I have reverted a fully updated a6 to libbrasero/brasero 2.27.92 and have
regained full and proper use of the cd/dvd drives.
Additionally the previously broken gksu nautilus is now fully functional both
from Alt+F2 and the terminal

The only caveat to use of gksu nautilus is the cd/dvd drive must not be
in an 'open' state

A screenshot is posted here showing a root nautilus, installed versions
of brasero/libbrasero-media0, desktop icons and 2 drives correcting
auto-mounting with notification
