Another update: I changed the description of the bug because the bug affects much more stuff. My brother wasn't able to burn CDs or install programs in Wine until he reverted to version 2.27.92-0ubuntu2. I have reverted a fully updated a6 to libbrasero/brasero 2.27.92 and have regained full and proper use of the cd/dvd drives.
