Based on the upstream bug report, it looks like a new version of libical must be installed, as well as a patch being applied to Evolution. What are the next steps for getting this fix into current Ubuntu releases? I can confirm this bug. Evolution 2.28 in Ubuntu 9.10 crashes too. But, surprisingly evolution crashes when I receive an invitation from somebody who is using Apple iCal (on Snow Leopard).
