Binary package hint: gnome-media
Open gnome-volume-control in 9.10 Karmic. The full window, not the little icon
in the panel.
Pulling "Output volume" down to the bottom automatically checks the "Mute"
checkbox.
Now pulling the volume back up again (even without releasing the mouse button
between) will not uncheck Mute.
Same thing for the "Alert volume" slider and for those under "Applications".
