[Bug 474669] Re: [9.10 x64] Auto timed login not work after logout

2009-12-01 Thread Peter van Valderen
Also confirmed. I am trying to use it for the same purpose as eremos.
This used to work in 9.04, but no longer does in 9.10.

Does this qualify as a bug or is this just functionality that has been
decided as unnecessary by GDM, and as such will not be working again in
the future?

[Bug 474669] Re: [9.10 x64] Auto timed login not work after logout

2009-11-30 Thread eremos
I can confirm this.

Autologin still works (when the machine reboots or gdm is restarted) but
timedlogin when a user logs out doesn't.

I realise gdm has been greatly simplified in Gnome 2.2.8, but this is a
feature that's still pretty necessary in my opinion. I use Ubuntu as a
media center so if XBMC exits for whatever reason, I need gdm to log
straight back in.

me...@htpc:~$ cat /etc/gdm/custom.conf

[daemon]
TimedLoginEnable=true
TimedLogin=media
TimedLoginDelay=5

AutomaticLoginEnable=true
AutomaticLogin=media

2009-11-05 Thread sash
I think that GDM is not restarted, when the user leaves system. Because
if to restart GDM these commands

sudo /etc/init.d/gdm stop
sudo /etc/init.d/gdm start

or

sudo stop --no-wait gdm
sudo start gdm

all works
