[Bug 478296] Re: nautilus ext3 file display issue
Hi, i can't reproduce it anymore, maybe an update has already solved it? As soon as i can reproduce it, i will attach the folder. [Bug 478296] Re: nautilus ext3 file display issue
sorry but cannot confirm the issue without a test case for it, since you're facing the issue you might want to send this directly upstream to bugzilla.gnome.org where the nautilus developers can read about it, for instructions on how to do it please read: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Upstream/GNOME ; Thanks in advance. -- nautilus ext3 file display issue https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/478296 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 478296] Re: nautilus ext3 file display issue
Oh and, is it possible to update the title of the bug? Clearly it's not EXT3 specific since I experienced it on both NTFS and EXT4. Besides in spite of my lack of experience I would assume it has not much to do with the file system of the partition since I travelled my way to the folder via the terminal and there was no problem seeing the files there while they were giving nautilus such a hard time. -- nautilus ext3 file display issue https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/478296 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 478296] Re: nautilus ext3 file display issue
I am sorry it is my first comment here so I'm very much discovering how it works right now. I would like to but I'm afraid I can't : as I said the 8 .PDF files - which I have been able to access since a reboot - are copies of the presentations slides given by one of my school's teachers as a support to his lectures and he's got a C in a circle next to his name on EVERY little one of the slides meaning that I would break his copyright by uploading them here. I am uploading the .odt file which is mine and I don't have any copyright crap on it... Do you think it might be his .PDF that has something weird making it hard for nautilus to show a preview of the content and thereby actually failing to show them in the folder? Thank you very much for your help anyway! ** Attachment added: "short .odt file containing sporadic notes from a lecture." http://launchpadlibrarian.net/35506215/Le2.odt.tar.gz -- nautilus ext3 file display issue https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/478296 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

any chance to compress those files and attach them to the report? [Bug 478296] Re: nautilus ext3 file display issue
Good morning, I've got exactly the same issue. Although I want to mention, it's happened on both partitions of my hard drive : EXT4 (system) and NTFS (data) I'm on Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic Koala 32bit Kernel 2.6.31-14-generic GNOME 2.28.1 on a laptop with a more than satisfactory configuration. Also I have to say that it's more and more annoying given that for instance, right now, I cannot access a folder in my /home/me/documents/course/lecture contents - yeah in other words I cannot study! To give some more details, an hour ago I opened it and actually could see and access the files (1 .odt and several .PDF) and then everytime I tried to open this folder again, there was nothing at all, just looking like it's loading for ages until recently when it displays the one .odt and keeps loading for ages for the others not even to appear... so what's up then? ** Changed in: nautilus (Ubuntu) Status: New => Confirmed -- nautilus ext3 file display issue https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/478296 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to nautilus in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
