Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gimp

I am using Ubuntu 9.10 and made a clean install 2 weeks ago. Since that
time my guides do not work anymore in GIMP. I checked if my guides have
been turned on in the view menu. They are.

Also after I tried to deploy a guide the "ants" around a selected area
are not visible anymore, while in fact the area is still selected and I
am still able to edit it. This can only be fixed by restarting GIMP and
not touching the guides anymore.

I am using Ubuntu and GIMP since 6.06 and never had this problem. Does
anyone know if this has anything to do simply with my settings or a
Nvidia, Gnome, Compiz or GIMP related bug?

Thanks in advance.
