Does this still happen in ubuntu 12.04? As far as I know, nautilus cd burner is deprecated in favour of brasero. ** Changed in: nautilus (Ubuntu) Status: Triaged = Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/486780 Title: 'Unable to mount blank optical disk' after burning to it To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/nautilus/+bug/486780/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

I encountered the same bug while blanking a RW CD. [Bug 486780] Re: 'Unable to mount blank optical disk' after burning to it
hello I have a similar bug on Karmic, but I don't know if I have to open a new bug report: - insert a DVD-RW - on the Desktop, right-clic - Blank (quick) - after several seconds the blanking has started, a pop-up window appears 'Unable to mount Blank Optical Disk - DBUS error - org.gtk.Private.RemoteVolumeMonitor.NotFound: the given volume was not found'. I leave the window until the blank has finished, and the blanking is always successfull. I did not try to close the window before the blanking has finished. -- 'Unable to mount blank optical disk' after burning to it https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/486780 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 486780] Re: Unable to mount blank optical disk
I have a similar problem writing to dvd-rw on a usb drive via a shell script. I use something like the following to backup my system at night: #!/bin/bash TODAY=$(/bin/date +%Y.%m.%d) # create backup.$TODAY.tgz /usr/bin/growisofs -use-the-force-luke -dvd-compat -Z /dev/dvdrw1\ -D -r -T -l -graft-points -iso-level 4 -V $TODAY.Backup\ backup.$TODAY.tgz If I watch this run, after I see /dev/dvdrw1: flushing cache and before /dev/dvdrw1: writing lead-out the error box will be displayed. This did not happen in 9.04. -- Unable to mount blank optical disk https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/486780 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 486780] Re: Unable to mount blank optical disk
* Is this reproducible? Yes * If so, what specific steps should we take to recreate this bug? Use Nautilus Write to Disk with a DVD-R disk, when the write is complete, the error should pop up. I mostly use RW media and with RW this has never happened. When the application finishes, apparently it does not check to see if there is a blank disk if RW media. With R only media, the disk of course is not blank optical media after a write, so it pops up the error. -- Unable to mount blank optical disk https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/486780 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
