This is, more likely than not, a bug in your video driver rather than evince or poppler unless it does report the right dpi but poppler ignores it because it doesn't correctly guess the display port (or something like that). yes i was using my 32-inch 1360x768 Sony Bravia TV as my monitor for display as my 19-inch Viewsonic 1440x900 screen had gone for repairs. now i am using my 19-inch screen and all is fine. i suppose it was the fault of using the TV as a computer monitor. I'm unable to reproduce this here on a 17 inch 1152x864 screen (detected by RandR as a 16 inch screen). Uname: Linux 2.6.31-16-generic i686 Package versions: evince 2.28.1-0ubuntu1.2 poppler 0.12.0-0ubuntu2.1 Your experience is possibly due to using such a large screen at such a low resolution. Is it a television?
