Binary package hint: software-center

the package/programme is the gnome panel
I use Ubuntu 9.10
the version of the package is 1:2.28.0-0ubuntu 6 0 http://de.archive.ubuntu.com
karmic/main packages 100 var/lib/dpkg/status
When I insert a DVD and want to open it with the video player it should open
the menu of the DVD. Instead I get an error message (in German) telling me that
the source couldn't be opened maybe due to a lack of user rights. I do have
this problem with DVDs for Europe and the US.
