As much as I love bastard mode, I don't think its right to have swearing in an app thats included as standard with Ubuntu and is also likely to be used by children. The main problem with Bastard mode isn't political correctness, it's translations. Bastard Mode is very hard to translate, it carries meaning fairly well in English but is hard to get right in some other languages. The user might also not fully understand what the impact of this option is. I know string changes are difficult, but given the complete lack of movement upstream on this, perhaps it would be worth targeting this to 10.04.1?
