[Bug 585116] Re: Unable to open e-mail attachments when the file has a spaces in the file name
I'd say this is a problem with Opera, it just throws a filename at evince, complete with any spaces, without quoting it. This thread on the Opera forums seems to suggest it was fixed at the time, so it may be a regression: http://my.opera.com/community/forums/topic.dml?id=293911 . I just wrote a little wrapper script and get Opera to call that instead of evince directly: !#/bin/bash exec evince $@ -- Unable to open e-mail attachments when the file has a spaces in the file name https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/585116 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to evince in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

how is opera calling evince? did you test this with any other email client? works fine with evolution for me. problem could be only related to opera... ** Changed in: evince (Ubuntu) Status: New = Incomplete -- Unable to open e-mail attachments when the file has a spaces in the file name https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/585116 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to evince in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 585116] Re: Unable to open e-mail attachments when the file has a spaces in the file name
I don't know how Opera calls Evince (how do I find out?). I've not tested with another mail client. However, as I wrote in my previous post, this is probably related to Opera rather than Evince since Okular also fails. I've filed a bug report to Opera. -- Unable to open e-mail attachments when the file has a spaces in the file name https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/585116 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to evince in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 585116] Re: Unable to open e-mail attachments when the file has a spaces in the file name
I tried to reproduce this issue with same version but works fine for me (openning from nautilus at least), please could you attach this pdf file or something similar for doing more testing? [Bug 585116] Re: Unable to open e-mail attachments when the file has a spaces in the file name
Opening from Nautilus has never been a problem. The problem occurs when the file is opened directly as an e-mail attachment. I don't think I've ever experienced this problem with other file types, only pdf for which Evince is my default application. I did however try replicate this with Okular and experienced the same. I guess that means the mail client (Opera) is to blame, not Evience, and hence suggest the bug is closed. -- Unable to open e-mail attachments when the file has a spaces in the file name https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/585116 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to evince in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
