Is there any way we can escalate this bug? It seems like it will be a fairly big deal when edgy gets released, and people won't be able to play media off of their servers. This is a pretty nasty regression, IMHO. I can also confirm this problem. No gstreamer apps are able to read from my file-server's (Ubuntu Dapper) samba share. I get the same problem, using current Edgy. I've attached the output of an strace when the problem occurs, if that helps at all. I have the same problem. SSH seems to work just fine, so I have been using that.
