I experience this on daily-live-20070111.1 when I boot from a slow USB- stick on a slow laptop, and on a fast laptop when I try using qemu. I am using the x386 distribution of Edgy and have this problem. This was reported as a duplicate report from bug #68284. Thanks for your bug. What version of edgy do you use? Is that a slow box? This bug appears to be fixed in Edgy.
