I got this message on ubuntu 10.04 LTS. It was a fresh install of ubuntu
and was doing updates when the error occured.

Intel core 2 duo 8400
Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3 Motherboard Rev-2.0
3 GB DDR2 RAM
ATI HD 4xxxx series graphics cars (XFX brand)
