Thank you for the reply. If that was a bug happening to everybody with Italian we would probably have received other bugs about it, that was probably due to something to your config. Since you can't reply to questions to debug the problem I'm closing the bug. Thank you for your bug. Does it work with an another locale? Does nautilus work or is it hanging when that happens? Do you have the gconf key /apps/nautilus/preferences/show_desktop activated? Unfortunately I had to revert the machine to Dapper and I won't be able to run Edgy on it for a while. For your questions: - The desktop does work with the default (en) locale. - Nautilus works when this happens. It simply opens a window rather than displaying the desktop.
