[Bug 694744] Re: New nautilus processes are continually spawned at login
For various reasons I am no longer using Ubuntu at all, so I'll mark this as invalid. ** Changed in: nautilus (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete = Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to nautilus in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/694744 Title: New nautilus processes are continually spawned at login -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 694744] Re: New nautilus processes are continually spawned at login
@David Stansby From your description, this bug doesn't seem like a crash to me, but perhaps I am missing something that Sebastien Bacher properly recognized. Before we re-subscribe him to this bug and ask, have you tried enabling Apport and seeing if a crash reporting window comes up (or a crash report is generated in /var/crash)? Besides what Sebastian Bacher has said, there are also detailed instructions for enabling Apport at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Apport#How%20to%20enable%20apport. ** Changed in: nautilus (Ubuntu) Status: New = Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to nautilus in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/694744 Title: New nautilus processes are continually spawned at login -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 694744] Re: New nautilus processes are continually spawned at login
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. However, your crash report is either missing or challenging to deal with as a .crash file. Please follow these instructions to have apport report a new bug about your crash that can be dealt with by the automatic retracer. If you are running the Ubuntu Stable Release you might need to enable apport in /etc/default/apport and restart. Now open your file manager, navigate to your /var/crash directory and open the crash report you wish to submit. If this fails you will have to open a terminal and file your report with 'ubuntu-bug /var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash' where _my_crash_report.crash is the crash you would like to report. If you get an error that you aren't allowed to access this report you will have to file it with 'sudo ubuntu-bug /var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash'. I'm closing this bug report since the process outlined above will automatically open a new bug report which can then dealt with more efficiently. Thanks in advance for your cooperation and understanding. ** Changed in: nautilus (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided = Low ** Changed in: nautilus (Ubuntu) Status: New = Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to nautilus in ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/694744 Title: New nautilus processes are continually spawned at login -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 694744] Re: New nautilus processes are continually spawned at login
I've just had a look in /var/crash and there are no related crash reports. If it helps, I've added the output of running nautilus to the bug report description. ** Changed in: nautilus (Ubuntu) Status: Invalid = New ** Description changed: Binary package hint: nautilus When I log in to Ubuntu Classic Desktop several Starting File Manager boxes appear in my window list.
