[Bug 778475] Re: gvfs requests wrong WebDAV URL

2011-05-06 Thread Martin Landl
** Description changed:

  Binary package hint: gvfs

  Ubuntu: 10.04 LTS
  gvfs: 1.6.1-0ubuntu1build1

When connection to a WebDAV Server using Places-Connect to Server

Service type: WebDAV (http) / Secure WebDAV (https) // tried both
  Server: myhost.mydomain.com
  Port: empty
  Folder: foo/bar
  User Name: admin

The connection is established successfully and the folder is opened in a new
nautilus window. I can see the expected file/folder structure.
- When closing and reopening this window, I can see no files whatsover.
+ When closing and reopening this window, I can see no files whatsoever.

While investigating using Wireshark, I expected a PROPFIND to
http://myhost.mydomain.com/foo/bar; but instead I found PROPFIND requests to
http://myhost.mydomain.com/;.
As on this URL I have no control over the HTTP response, the gvfs WebDAV
client receives a PROPFIND response with no listed resources.

While further investigating, I stumbled up the .gvfs folder in my home
directory. This contains a folder WebDAV on myhost.mydomain.com. This
folder seems empty in the terminal, but when issuing an ls -l command,
a PROPFIND is sent to the URL http://myhost.mydomain.com/;. Also here I
  would expect http://myhost.mydomain.com/foo/bar;.

Funny thing: if I issue ls foo/bar within the .gvfs/WebDAV on
myhost.mydomain.com folder, the correct PROPFIND request is sent and I
can see the file/folder structure in the terminal output.

There seems to be a problem with the given folder in the Connect to
  Server menu.
