[Bug 876142] Re: .pptx and .docx are by default opened by Archive Manager

2011-10-17 Thread kroq-gar78
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 873470 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/873470

** Description changed:

  Using Ubuntu 11.10,
  nautilus 1:3.2.0-0ubuntu5

.pptx and .docx are by default set to open with Archive Manager. If a
file is downloaded and directly opened, this can cause confusion for
some. This occurred after the upgrade to Ubuntu 11.10 and was not the
case before the upgrade. This is a major inconvenience for me and - I'm
sure - many others, though it is easy to manually fix by right clicking
on the file, going to properties - open with - click the radio button
for LibreOffice - set as default (near the bottom-left of the window).

Office 2007+ files are being opened by Archive Manager by default as
opposed to being opened by LibreOffice, which one would expect.

- P.S. I would like to actually solve my first bug report, so some
- guidance would be appreciated if it's an easy fix ;)
