2011-10-27 Thread Walter Garcia-Fontes
I can also reproduce it in ubuntu 11.10/ Unity. Can you please complete
the bug report by providing the information about your system?, by
running:

apport-collect 880500

When reporting bugs in the future please use apport by using 'ubuntu-
bug' and the name of the package affected. You can learn more about this
functionality at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ReportingBugs.

[Bug 880500] Re: Nautilus offers no feedback for launching applications

2011-10-26 Thread Carl Ansell
I can reproduce this with Ubuntu 11.10/Unity. Updated description.

** Changed in: nautilus (Ubuntu)
   Status: In Progress = Confirmed

** Description changed:

- affects ubuntu/nautilus
+ Steps to reproduce:
+ Browse nautilus
+ Find a file you wish to open
+ Double click the file to open it
+ Observe no changes in the cursor on screen
+
+ What is expected to happen:
+ The cursor should change to the spinning icon to indicate that the file is
opening
+
+
+ affects ubuntu/nautilus

After double-clicking on a document/image/video file, there is no feedback
that
the application is actually starting, until its window finally appears. In the
previous release of Ubuntu, Nautilus had changed the cursor to the
busy/waiting
  cursor until the application appears.

Interestingly, the busy cursor appears in the guest session, but not mine. How
strange. Is there some specific configuration in dconf or elsewhere I should
look at?
