The latest stable release of Empathy (3.2.2) has been available for almost a month now. Different issues, security related as well, have been fixed, including this one. You seriously want me to make a screencast of the process? :-S Ow well... Attached you'll find a video of the steps to reproduce. I started recording right after logging in after a clean reboot. Some accounts in Empathy are disabled, as you can see in the accounts dialog, to speed up the recoding process. The link on my desktop is a link to the file ~/.xsession-errors. After some more trying I managed to find a way to reproduce the issue. It's quite easy actually. - Open Empathy - Click on Edit - Accounts - Close the Accounts dialog After this it is not possible to open the Accounts dialog again. A work-around is killing the empathy-accounts process using the System Monitor.
