[Bug 89723] Re: PDA with memory card doesn't mount automatically
hal does not know anything about this drive: volume.label = '' (string) volume.uuid = '' (string) volume.fsversion = '' (string) volume.fsusage = '' (string) volume.fstype = '' (string) storage.model = '' (string) Can you actually mount it manually? I. e. does sudo mount /dev/sda1 /mnt work and give you the files in /mnt? (unmount it with 'sudo umount /mnt'). If it fails, what is the output? What does 'sudo blkid' say? ** Changed in: hal (Ubuntu) Sourcepackagename: gnome-mount = hal -- PDA with memory card doesn't mount automatically https://launchpad.net/bugs/89723 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 89723] Re: PDA with memory card doesn't mount automatically
sudo mount /dev/sda1 /mnt actually works, nothing is output. One issue is that GNOME doesn't seem to recognise that this volume is mounted, it doesn't come up in Nautilus or in the Places list. The relevent parts of the output of sudo blkid is: /dev/sda1: LABEL=LIFEDRIVE UUID=1234-5678 TYPE=vfat /dev/sdb1: SEC_TYPE=msdos LABEL=TOM-TOM UUID=0102-0304 TYPE=vfat -- PDA with memory card doesn't mount automatically https://launchpad.net/bugs/89723 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
