I get the same error when unmounting an iaudio 7 as well as an ipod
shuffle (mounted to /media/IPOD). It unmounts and removes the directory
properly so I don't believe this error message is warranted.

Same error here (see attached screenshot). The device is successfully
unmounted, no folder remnants remain and it is safe to remove the
device. The error message is displayed in.. error? :)

I am running Gutsy Tribe 4, latest updates as of Aug 15th 2007.

Same problem here on latest Feisty update..
Well, not exactly the same.. I can eject my 2.5 80GB Fujitsu (xfs) disk
allright, but my other 3.5 WD (reiserfs) disks does not.. it is removed, but
gets mounted back right away.. here is some syslog dump upon a bad ejection:

Same problem with my dvd drive when selecting eject or unmount. After pressing
ok the drive ejects and the drive icon disappears. Maybe some kind of rights
misconfiguration of the /media folder?
Im running up-to-date feisty, german server.

I can confirm this. The bug was introduced post Herd 4. My usb drive
that causes this problem is labeled USB DISK.
