ok, if xrandr has the same issue it's not a bug in the ui, rather in
the video driver,xorg

Can you elaborate?

I have the same problem in VIrtualBox BTW. That environment is gone so I
can't open a bug report for that right away.

no, I'm asking do you consider the xrandr command output as buggy as
well? i.e it lists Screen 0: minimum 1 x 1, current 1920 x 1200,
maximum 8192 x 8192 as the only output
