Upstream issue was closed on 2008-11-16 as "RESOLVED NOTABUG" so this is seen as working as designed. Thank you for bringing this bug to our attention. Unfortunately a paper cut should be a small usability issue that affects many people and is quick and easy to fix. I'm afraid this bug can't be addressed as part of this project. This is an app specific issue, Not a papercut. Really annoying. With a playlist, there is no way to know whether or not I have heard a song, but if I had the ability to shuffle in the Play queue, I would. This bug has been sent upstream to GNOME, where we're sort of trying to convince them that it's a queue, it shouldn't be allowed to be shuffled! is extremely annoying to users that want songs to play only once, in a random order, and then disappear...since playlists can't do that once, then disappear thing. There are still two usability bugs here, then. 1) The Shuffle and Repeat buttons should not even exist in Queue view if they can't be used, and they certainly shouldn't be able to be toggled. That is completely counter-intuitive 2) There should be a way for the user to pick a bunch of songs without the hassle of grabbing them in order or thinking about the order without having to make a playlist. Playlists are saved lists.
