[Bug 42825] Re: [Dapper] Inspecting the printer properties takes too much time

2007-04-04 Thread Matthew Buckett
I believe the delay in displaying the properties is related to the amount of
time it takes to build the list of available drivers as the delay is the same
as when adding a new printer?
Would it be possible to cache the driver list so that this delay disappears of
at least display the same dialog box when bringing up the printer properties as
when adding a new printer so that the user doesn't think the click was ignored

[Bug 102779] cannot add custom application to gnome-panel

2007-04-04 Thread Bram Kuijper
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-panel

I am using Ubuntu feisty, with gnome panel 2.18.0 with the following
uname: Linux 2.6.20-13-generic #2 SMP Sun Mar 25 00:21:25 UTC 2007
i686 GNU/Linux

Already since I began to run feisty a couple of months ago, I cannot add
any custom applications via the Add to Panel option.

What to do:
1. right click on Gnome Panel
2. select Add to Panel
3. Select Custom Application Launcher
4. Fill in the Create Launcher dialog:
-Type: application (but can be anything)
-Name: any
-application name: any, but let's do something Java-like, like java -jar
/home/bram/applications/JabRef-2.2.jar
-Comment: leave empty.

5. Press OK

I am now back at the Add to Panel dialog. However, my custom
application is not appearing anywhere. Not on the gnome-panel, not in
the Add to Panel dialog itself. Also nothing happens when I press
Close in the Add to Panel dialog.

2007-04-04 Thread Tom Womack
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 43270 ***

It looks as if Firefox is using a bold Cyrillic font for the letters
that don't have good matches in Roman alphabet, and a less-bold Roman
font for other letters (e,c,p,y,o) for which superficially-identical
letters exist in the Roman alphabet

[Bug 102797] gtk2-engines-pixbuf needs to be installed for pixmap themes (and it isn't by default)

2007-04-04 Thread nyékhelyi gábor
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gtk2-engines-pixbuf

I installed some themes from gnome-look.org, it was an easy drag and
drop action, but only the colour were applied, not the gtk2 theme. After
installing the gtk2-engine-pixbuf, the themes worked perfect. New users
maybe won't have this idea to install a pixbuf/pixmap engine, so i thing

[Bug 95977] Re: Orca install error when upgrading to Fiesty

2007-04-04 Thread Henrik Nilsen Omma
Hi Beth. You installed the latest orca in such a way that it replaced
the ubuntu version. That is generally bound to give you upgrade problem.
Normally this kind of bug would just be rejected as unsupported, but you
are right that peole will often do this. And we do actually want to
encourage peope to test the latest or and the latest ubuntu. I'll post
to the mailing list for ideas on this.

[Bug 102635] Re: help doesn't launch from application

2007-04-04 Thread Gianluca Varisco
I try to reproduce the problem but when I'm choosing Help (or pressing
the shortcut CTRL+H) I receive this message (see also the screenshot
attached):

Could not open help directory:
Error opening directory '/usr/share/dia/help': Nessun file o directory

So it seems to point to /usr/share/dia/ instead of /usr/share/doc/dia/

Mh, sorry. I'm referring to the dia package and not dia-gnome.

With dia-gnome the Help section doesn't do anything. By the way, dia
package seems broken too.

[Bug 102835] [apport] gweather-applet-2 crashed with SIGSEGV in gnome_vfs_module_callback_invoke()

2007-04-04 Thread Andrew Conkling
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-applets

I killed and restarted my panel to do some other debugging and the
weather applet crashed. I know it's not an ideal situation, but the
other applets could handle the crash and restart.

[Bug 102833] nautilus: no border around edit images' thumbnail

2007-04-04 Thread Brendon Gleeson
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nautilus

If I download images from my camera nautilus displays the thumbnails
with a gray/black border around them. If I edit those images with gimp
or ImageMagick or anything else, the thumbnails is updated without the
border, so If I view the images, some of them have a border and some
don't which is very aesthetically inconsistent...

[Bug 102833] Re: nautilus: no border around edit images' thumbnail

2007-04-04 Thread Brendon Gleeson
As you can see, I downloaded a file from my file server, I then copied
it, then edited it, then saved it - it then lost it's border

2007-04-04 Thread Sebastien Bacher
Thanks for your bug report. Could you try to get a valgrind log for it
(you can follow the instructions from https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Valgrind
for that)?

[Bug 81520] Re: [apport] gnome-panel crashed with SIGSEGV in _int_malloc() when upgrading a few packages

2007-04-04 Thread Andrew Conkling
Every time I try to reproduce this bug in Valgrind, it fails to crash.
Considering how often this happens on its own, It seems plausible that
someone could try a Feisty beta CD and upgrade the packages there?
