Thanks for the response (and the video!) I can confirm it, however I believe that the problem must be in the nautilus lack of focus instead of libreoffice, or chrome, I was able to see the same performance with firefox, however coudn't reproduce it with the «software center» . Gnome bug #328971 is about tags, this one (Gnome bug #556828) about album entries, both reports are open and seem forgotten, probably they wont be fixed upstream in a close future, the attached patch never was accepted in upstream and isn't applicable in ubuntu anymore. It's present in 2.98-0ubuntu1 (raring) and there is also a report in Debian #680584 (which may indicate they also have it). I became affected by this bug after passing control to /etc/X11/Xsession from ~/.xinitrc with Slim as login manager, since I barely log out/reboot I started looking for a way to fix it and I found a quite clean way to do it in this post: http://www.mail-archive.com/debian-edu@lists.debian.org/msg14226.html By creating a /etc/Xsession.d/05noerrfile file. I think it should be considered to be the default behavior.
