minimum cairo dependency

2008-06-02 Thread Matthias Clasen
It was pointed out to me that
http://live.gnome.org/TwoPointTwentythree/ExternalDependencies still
lists cairo 1.2.6 as minimum version.
I recently bumped the cairo dependency in GTK+ 2.13 to 1.6 (it already
was at 1.5.2 before).
I think we should bump the minimum required version of cairo to 1.6.0
for Gnome 2.24.

I believe that 1.6.4 is currently considered all-the-rage as far as
bug fixes are concerned. For sanity's sake, lets align ourselves with
other projects and bump to that version.

Yeah, I think I set it at 1.5.2 because of the Win32 printing surface
(and 1.6.0 wasn't out yet at the time). As far as I know, that was the
only reason it got bumped before.

Yes, that is true. 1.6.4 is the first 'good' 1.6 release.

The -Werror flag is probably what's causing it not to compile.

Tarballs should not contain -Werror. The error is due to that ('warnings
treated as errors')
