If there are other important changes in other libraries, I think it's a good idea to add them in the release notes. It would be just two or three more lines to translate. But it should be done as soon as possible so you have the time to update the translation. Or it doesn't matter to me if GtkSourceView is not mentioned in the release notes, so you can just remove the line. GNOME-wide, it's not really important. -- Sébastien ___ desktop-devel-list mailing list desktop-devel-list@gnome.org https://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/desktop-devel-list

If it's just moving things around, it doesn't change anything for translators. If it's removing something, it's less work for those that haven't translated it yet (and not a real problem if it has already been translated). In the wiki I added something for GtkSourceView, now in the release notes it is in the section "Other GTK+ Improvements". But GtkSourceView is not part of GTK+. It should be in another section "Other libraries improvements" or something like that. Are there other important improvements in other libraries than GLib and GTK+? Because having a single item for GtkSourceView is not a good idea, in that case it's better to just talk about GLib and GTK+. It's part of a longer string. 2. I was trying to avoid mentioning that it was previously possible to add annotations but not remove them (not something to be proud of). If the lack of specificity is so bad, it would be better to remove any reference to the feature. I just tried it out and it's not obvious enough that I think a specific description is needed: "added ability to remove annotations by right clicking them" On 09/11/2014 06:41 AM, Tomasz Torcz wrote: > On Thu, Sep 11, 2014 at 11:24:20AM +0100, Allan Day wrote: >> drago01 wrote: >>> "evince: Remove annotations support" ... this is a bit misleading it >>> means "option to remove annotations from a document" >> ... >> >> Yeah, it became "improved annotations functionality" in the actual notes. > > "improved annotations functionality" conveys 10x less information and > is 10x less useful than "option to remove annotations from a document". > ___ desktop-devel-list mailing list desktop-devel-list@gnome.org https://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/desktop-devel-list

Re: 3.14 Release Notes
"evince: Remove annotations support" ... this is a bit misleading it means "option to remove annotations from a document" not "remove annoations support from evince (just to make sure that the confusing language does not end up in the final release notes). ___ desktop-devel-list mailing list desktop-devel-list@gnome.org https://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/desktop-devel-list
Re: 3.14 Release Notes
This is a reminder that I'm still looking for details for the release notes. I need more than just a bullet for each feature - some description is essential. Notable absences from the release notes: * No details on gestures - which gestures are supported by which apps? Do they work automatically in other apps? etc. * Not much on the shell. I know we're not expecting big changes here, but there could be groups of bugs that are worth mentioning. I'm especially interested in multimonitor improvements. * Videos, Boxes, Web and Documents are missing. * Photos and Music seems pretty empty. 3.14 Release Notes
Hi everyone! The 3.14 release is approaching fast, and UI freeze is almost upon us. Now is a good time to start thinking about the Release Notes. Please add any features you have worked on over this cycle to the wiki page: https://wiki.gnome.org/ThreePointThirteen/ReleaseNotes They can be big or small improvements - it doesn't matter.
