Re: New GNOME goal: shortcuts windows

2016-01-15 Thread Allan Day
Hi everyone!

A little update on how this goal is going! 14 apps have been given
shortcut windows so far. These are:

Boxes
Builder
Clocks
Documents
Eye of GNOME
Evince
Files
gedit
Logs
Maps
Photos
Polari
Settings
Videos

That's pretty good progress! In terms of outstanding work, I count
around 8 apps that it would be really good to have shortcut windows by
the end of the cycle:

Calendar
Contacts
DevHelp
Help
Music
Notes
Rhythmbox
Terminal

There are bugs listed for each of these on the GNOME Goal page. These
could be good for newcomers...

Allan

I've just updated the guidelines for this goal: please check them out
if your app has a shortcuts window. There might be one or two small
changes that need to be made.

Thanks,

Allan

New GNOME goal: shortcuts windows

2015-11-09 Thread Allan Day
Hi all,

GTK+ now has these really cool shortcut windows, which allow you to
show a dialog with an overview of all the keyboard shortcuts and
gestures in an app. It would be awesome if we could get as many apps
using these as possible by 3.20, so I've created a GNOME Goal for it:

https://wiki.gnome.org/Initiatives/GnomeGoals/ShortcutWindows

I've filed bugs for a fair few apps, but more are needed. It would be
great to have some help with that.

The wiki page contains guidance for which apps should have a shortcut
window, and how to organize them. However, these will probably need
elaboration so please shout if you have any questions!

Thanks,

Allan
