[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1869734] Re: openjade segfaults on all arch

** Changed in: openjade (Debian)

Title:
  openjade segfaults on all arch

Status in openjade package in Ubuntu:
  Triaged
Status in pgpool2 package in Ubuntu:
  New
Status in openjade package in Debian:
  Fix Released

Bug description:
cpaelzer: fun, openjade segfaulting on focal/arm64
I beg your pardon for my ignorance of the ecosystem, but how is
this related to postgresql-apt
  for doc generation?
cpaelzer: the postgresql-9.5 and -9.6 builds fail during doc
generation on focal/arm64
everything else (other archs, other dists) is fine

https://pgdgbuild.dus.dg-i.net/job/postgresql-9.5-binaries/architecture=arm64,distribution=focal/55/console

  Myon: only on arm64?
  only there, yes

  ./configure && make -C doc/src/sgml all  should reproduce it
clone and build this branch ?
https://github.com/postgres/postgres/tree/REL9_5_STABLE
the crash is in /usr/lib/libostyle.so.1 from libostyle1c2
  here it is
  segfault

  I have this now http://paste.debian.net/1136839/
  https://paste.ubuntu.com/p/CfzrfWkqzs/

well I wanted to get -O0 to see more int he debugger
my build worked as well now
the -O0 openjade installed doesn't segfault
oh so like my -O0 then
so maybe we should just always -O0 openjade then?
TBH who cares about optimization in that
But its usage is mostly build time and not runtime
  maybe -O0 on arm64 only
I'm rebulding -O2 again to recheck if that really is it
and then -O1 to check the in between
it might "just" need a rebuild

  -O2 re-build segfault
-O1 (for completeness) rebuild ... seems to hang?
  probably not really relevant
agreed, but I want to rebuild -O0 again just to see it builds
and then works
-O0 on arm64 really seems to be a good choice

I can try if rebuilding makes it fail on sid
cpaelzer: recompiling openjade in arm64/sid doesn't make it
segfault
so it seems this needs a focal-only fix
cpaelzer: the openjade segfault is also present in pgpool2, so
not just in ancient PostgreSQL :(

  The latest kernel tree
  (https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git)
has the complete solution to fix this bug. So we can expect kernel
v5.11 to fix this issue without any additional work.

Before the release of v5.11, you are suggested to use #189 to save your
touchpad. Note that for distributions like Ubuntu and Fedora, the pinctrl-amd
driver is built into the initramfs. So you have to rebuild the initramfs after
replacing the old module with new one.
On Fedora, run `sudo dracut --force`; On ubuntu, run `sudo update-initramfs
-u`.

The complete solution is three patches,
   - 47a0001436352c9853d72bf2071e85b316d688a2 ("pinctrl: amd: remove debounce
filter setting in IRQ type setting")
   - 06abe8291bc31839950f7d0362d9979edc88a666 ("pinctrl: amd: fix incorrect way
to disable debounce filter")
   - 8dcb7a15a585b6d0fee15751ce11d7a68cfedd56 ("gpiolib: acpi: Take into
account debounce settings")

The first two patches has reached the stable tree. If the last one is
also backported to LTS kernel, you won't need to install kernel 5.11.
But I don't know when this will happen.

  Hello

The MSFT touchpad of this Lenovo Legion-5 15ARH05 laptop is not reacting at
all (pointer and click never move when touchpad is touched). This has been
reported by other users in various websites, with various linux systems
including other Ubuntu systems, but I saw no launchpad bug so I post one.
Example of websites covering the issue :

the same laptop)

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1051625] Re: nautilus crashed with signal 5 in _XEventsQueued()

2021-03-01 Thread nilandenterprise
For me this is still happening and I have other problems with nautilus
such as desktop icons disappearing when there is activity like open or
close nautilus or firefox. The same happend in ubutnu-gnome 14.04 LTS ad
now 16.04 LTS. I was dragged into updating to 16 as support told me no
help as this was my problem, but 16 has been a bad choice for me and
this older computer. Very unhappy

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1846374] Re: Having a video playing/paused when switched to another user generates gigabytes of error logs

2021-03-01 Thread Adrian Wilkins
Been running -460 for ages, my syslog occupies 80GB of disk space and

  2. Optionally pause it.

  3. Switch to another user.

The original user's ~/.xsession-errors will rapidly fill up with
errors along the lines of "vdpau_chroma filter error".

At the same time, errors are put in /var/log/syslog as well:

[7f9d604810a0] vdpau_chroma filter error: video mixer features failure:
An invalid handle value was provided.
[7f9d604810a0] vdpau_chroma filter error: video mixer attributes failure:
An invalid handle value was provided.
[7f9d604810a0] vdpau_chroma filter error: video mixer rendering failure:
An invalid handle value was provided.
  (repeat ad nauseum)

At least one of the two will rapidly fill up its partition and
  problems will arise.

With AMD video hardware and driver, the video continues playing - you
can hear the sound despite being in the other user.

  The latest kernel tree
  (https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git)
has the complete solution to fix this bug. So we can expect kernel
v5.11 to fix this issue without any additional work.

Before the release of v5.11, you are suggested to use #189 to save your
touchpad. Note that for distributions like Ubuntu and Fedora, the pinctrl-amd
driver is built into the initramfs. So you have to rebuild the initramfs after
replacing the old module with new one.
On Fedora, run `sudo dracut --force`; On ubuntu, run `sudo update-initramfs
-u`.

The complete solution is three patches,
   - 47a0001436352c9853d72bf2071e85b316d688a2 ("pinctrl: amd: remove debounce
filter setting in IRQ type setting")
   - 06abe8291bc31839950f7d0362d9979edc88a666 ("pinctrl: amd: fix incorrect way
to disable debounce filter")
   - 8dcb7a15a585b6d0fee15751ce11d7a68cfedd56 ("gpiolib: acpi: Take into
account debounce settings")

The first two patches has reached the stable tree. If the last one is
also backported to LTS kernel, you won't need to install kernel 5.11.
But I don't know when this will happen.

  Hello

The MSFT touchpad of this Lenovo Legion-5 15ARH05 laptop is not reacting at

  The latest kernel tree
  (https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git)
has the complete solution to fix this bug. So we can expect kernel
v5.11 to fix this issue without any additional work.

Before the release of v5.11, you are suggested to use #189 to save your
touchpad. Note that for distributions like Ubuntu and Fedora, the pinctrl-amd
driver is built into the initramfs. So you have to rebuild the initramfs after
replacing the old module with new one.
On Fedora, run `sudo dracut --force`; On ubuntu, run `sudo update-initramfs
-u`.

The complete solution is three patches,
   - 47a0001436352c9853d72bf2071e85b316d688a2 ("pinctrl: amd: remove debounce
filter setting in IRQ type setting")
   - 06abe8291bc31839950f7d0362d9979edc88a666 ("pinctrl: amd: fix incorrect way
to disable debounce filter")
   - 8dcb7a15a585b6d0fee15751ce11d7a68cfedd56 ("gpiolib: acpi: Take into
account debounce settings")

The first two patches has reached the stable tree. If the last one is
also backported to LTS kernel, you won't need to install kernel 5.11.
But I don't know when this will happen.

My touchpad MSFT0001:00 04F3:3140 works fine with Kernel 5.11, but stops
working with the new 5.12-rc1
So far I haven't found the cause.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1917362] [NEW] PAM: smartcard owner isn't associated to user by default

2021-03-01 Thread Treviño
Public bug reported:

Insert a smartcard that has an user associated to it:
-> gdm is expected to select the user associated to it and allow authentication

SSSD side of fix is part of 2.4.1 and should be handled by
https://github.com/SSSD/sssd/pull/5401/

GDM should instead handle empty users properly both in the PAM config
and sending the info back to gnome-shell.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 508522] Re: Add automatic switching to HSP/HFP from A2DP when a mic is needed

2021-03-01 Thread David LaVerne
I've added a new error report that goes beyond this issue,
but is related to it, #1917358.
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-mate/+bug/1917358

There are other interactions with Bluetooth and PulseAudio,
making quite a mess of things.

I tried the suggestion in Comment #74 without any success.
I've tried a lot of combinations of things, discovering a
number of misbehaviors documented there.

My concern is, since this problem has been floating around
for 11 years+ now, it may be that no one is ever going to
fix it. It should at least be made explicit and clear that
headset and earphone such microphones do not work with
Ubuntu; I've wasted a couple of days fighting this, and
now probably need to fall back to a Windows system to use
for Zoom with headset.

Of course, that means Zoom, and phones through the computer
for Customer Relations, and Tech Support, and thousands of
other usages. But at least they should not waste their
time as I have, trying to set it up under Linux/Ubuntu.

Add automatic switching to HSP/HFP from A2DP when a mic is needed

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: pulseaudio

  I'm testing a Nokia BH-905i headset (see
http://www.wissel.net/blog/d6plinks/SHWL-8AZGGF ) on Ubuntu 10.10. The
Bluetooth module correctly identifies the headset and the both audio profiles
"HSP/ HFP Telephony duplex" and "A2DP High Fidelity Playback". For music
playback only A2DP is suitable (HSP/HFP sounds like listening to music played
through an old telephone). A2DP does not have an INPUT mode, so use of the
headset for VoiP isn't possible.
What would be needed is a separate selection to allow to select A2DP for
output and HSP/HFP for input. Smartphones (a lot of them *nix based) phones do
that (or they switch on the fly?).

  Formal structure:
  1) Ubuntu 10.10
  2) Pulse-Audio 1:0.9.22~0.9.21+stable-queue-32-g8478-0ubuntu21.1
  consisting og pluseaudio, pulseaudio-esound-compat,
pulseaudio-module-bluetooth, pulseaudio-module-gconf, pulseaudio-module-x11,
pulseaudio-utils
  3) Select high quality audio output and still use the Bluetooth microphone
  4) Had to choose: either high quality audio or "telephone quality" with
microphone

I can change the profile without the Bluetooth connection dropping,
but that's ridiculous. E.g. listening to music, a call comes in. Then
I would need to switch the profile before answering. Please note that
in Windows, Mac OS, iOS, Android, and Windows Mobile it's done
  automatically.

  Check out attached screencast.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1685754] Re: 'systemd --user' unduly forces umask=0022

2021-03-01 Thread Etienne URBAH
Inside Ubuntu 20.10 (Groovy Gorilla), I just tested with systemd versions
246.6-1ubuntu1 and 246.6-1ubuntu1.1 :
The issue has disappeared; umask is correct under gnome-terminal.
So, I remove the 'groovy' tag.

pam_umask, from /etc/passwd, is not honored in systemd --user
  instances

  [test case]

on a desktop system, edit /etc/passwd to change the test user entry
(e.g. the 'ubuntu' user) to include 'umask=007' in the GECOS field
  (5th field). For example change:

  ubuntu:x:1000:1000:Ubuntu:/home/ubuntu:/bin/bash

  to:

  ubuntu:x:1000:1000:Ubuntu,umask=007:/home/ubuntu:/bin/bash

You may need to reboot for your X session to pick up the change.

Then, from the graphical desktop, open a terminal and run:

  $ gnome-terminal -e sh

  in the opened terminal, run:

  $ umask

the number shown should be 0007, as set in the passwd file

  [regression potential]

any regression would likely result in an incorrect umask for the user
  whose passwd entry is modified.

  [scope]

this is needed only for b

this is fixed in systemd upstream by commit
5e37d1930b41b24c077ce37c6db0e36c745106c7 which was first included in
v246, so this is fixed in g and later. This commit was also picked up
by Debian and included in the v245 release for focal, so this is fixed
  in focal already.

  [original description]

In order to set the default umask of my users to 027 or 007, I
followed the instructions provided in 'man pam_umask' :

In the 'gecos' field of '/etc/passwd', I have inserted 'umask=027' or
  'umask=007' (for myself).

Then, MOST graphical applications systematically run with the correct
  umask.

In particular, when I press Alt-F2, run 'xterm sh' and type 'umask',
  it systematically displays 0007.

But when I press Alt-F2, run 'gnome-terminal -e sh' and type 'umask',
  it systematically displays 0022.

That is BAD, and is a security issue.

Workaround : Inside the newly created '/etc/profile.d/umask.sh', and in each
'~/.bashrc', add following content :
  UMASK="$(grep  -o  "^$USER:.*,umask=0[0-7]*"  /etc/passwd)"
  if [ "$UMASK" ]; then
    umask "${UMASK#$USER:*,umask=}"
  fi

In fact, 'gnome-terminal' MUST NOT force umask=022, but keep umask
  unchanged.

Thank you in advance for a quick correction.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1878194] Re: [Sennheiser HD 4.50 BTNC] Bluetooth headset not working when selecting HSP/HFP audio profile in Focal Fossa

Title:
[Sennheiser HD 4.50 BTNC] Bluetooth headset not working when selecting
HSP/HFP audio profile in Focal Fossa

Status in bluez package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed
Status in pulseaudio package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
After updating the release from Ubuntu 19.10 to 20.04, the bluetooth
headset doesn't work anymore when HSP/HFP profile is selected.

With Ubuntu 19.10 the headset was working, there was audio and the mic
  was perfect for video conferencing.

  [Steps to reproduce]
  1. Connect headset (used blueman to setup and connect)
1.1. When connected the system automatically selects A2DP profile
  2. Start playing audio (browser or other)
  3. Change profile to HSP/HFP with pavucontrol (or blueman)
  4. The audio disappears and microphone is not working (no input)
  5. Optionally switch back to A2DP and the audio comes back

  [Expected]
When switching to HSP/HFP the audio should keep playing and the microphone
should start working

  [Notes]
I tried with pavucontrol to switch between profiles while playing audio from
a browser.
As side note there's a led in the headset that still blinks when switching
profile.

I tried deleting the pulse folder under user's profile .config without
success, also reinstalled packages and did a `sudo alsa force-reload`
  and rebooting several times.

Note: not sure this is a duplicate of [Bug #1576559], it looks quite
different since the profile changes but the headset stops working.

  [System info]
  Ubuntu: 20.04 - Linux 5.4.0-29-generic x86_64
  pulseaudio: 1:13.99.1-1ubuntu3

  The latest kernel tree
  (https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git)
has the complete solution to fix this bug. So we can expect kernel
v5.11 to fix this issue without any additional work.

Before the release of v5.11, you are suggested to use #189 to save your
touchpad. Note that for distributions like Ubuntu and Fedora, the pinctrl-amd
driver is built into the initramfs. So you have to rebuild the initramfs after
replacing the old module with new one.
On Fedora, run `sudo dracut --force`; On ubuntu, run `sudo update-initramfs
-u`.

The complete solution is three patches,
   - 47a0001436352c9853d72bf2071e85b316d688a2 ("pinctrl: amd: remove debounce
filter setting in IRQ type setting")
   - 06abe8291bc31839950f7d0362d9979edc88a666 ("pinctrl: amd: fix incorrect way
to disable debounce filter")
   - 8dcb7a15a585b6d0fee15751ce11d7a68cfedd56 ("gpiolib: acpi: Take into
account debounce settings")

The first two patches has reached the stable tree. If the last one is
also backported to LTS kernel, you won't need to install kernel 5.11.
But I don't know when this will happen.

  Hello

As the label says, the version field is for the earliest (known) affected
version, in general it's useful for narrowing down when a bug was introduced,
to hint at whether it's a more recent regression/implementation error, or
whether it was already in the first LO version.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1917341] Re: Thunderbird 78.1 cannot send mail

2021-03-01 Thread Olivier Tilloy
This appears to be a known issue, where some servers don't support the
minimum TLS version requested by this new version of Thunderbird. See
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1295861 for details. TLDR:
in the configuration editor, change "security.tls.version.min" to "2".

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1917191] Re: firefox will not start after it crashed unexpectedly

2021-03-01 Thread Olivier Tilloy
If you don't mind installing debug packages that use a substantial
amount of space, could you do the following:

sudo apt install firefox-dbg
firefox -g

At the (gdb) prompt, type "r" then return. When the crash happens, you
should be getting another (gdb) prompt, type "t a a bt" then return,
press the return key until there is no more of the backtrace to display,
then copy-paste the contents of the terminal to a text file and attach
it here.

This would be very helpful to understand where the crash is occuring.
Many thanks in advance!

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1916705] Re: glib2.0 >=2.67.3 breaks include from an extern C context

2021-03-01 Thread Iain Lane
I'm going to close this bug in the 2.67.5-1 upload which I'm just making
to experimental. There will still be "some" projects still affected, but
it's as fixed as it's going to get from glib2.0's side - we made the API
break opt in for packages that have followed glib's longstanding advice
and defined the MAX_ALLOWED/MIN_REQUIRED macros.

Affected projects can do either (but should do both) of these.

  - Define GLIB_VERSION_MAX_ALLOWED to something below GLIB_VERISON_2_66 to opt
out or _2_68 to opt in to this new typesafe behaviour.
  - Not include glib's headers in an 'extern "C"' context. GLib has
G_{BEGIN,END}_DECLS that might help with this.

  Also in disas/nanomips.cpp, ...

  And indeed disas/arm-a64.cc has:
   20 extern "C" {
   21 #include "qemu/osdep.h"
   22 #include "disas/dis-asm.h"
   23 }

Through the chain of headers as reported above this gets to the templates
in /usr/include/c++/10/type_traits which fails due to that.

So C++ constructs within a C scope which is this bug.

Upstream qemu has not recently changed yet for this.
The code is the same since 2016 via commit e78490c44: "disas/arm-a64.cc:
Include osdep.h first" by Peter Maydell.

But what was different before to break it now?
To find that I was comparing Hirsute vs Hirsute-proposed ...

It is indeed failing in -proposed but working in hirsute-release.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1917069] Re: Unable to access a radissonhotels.com website using FireFox on Ubuntu

2021-03-01 Thread Olivier Tilloy
This appears to be a User-Agent sniffing issue on the server side. If I
use an extension to change the user agent string to e.g. that of Firefox
86 on Windows, the website loads correctly.

If you care about this problem, please report it to Radisson so they fix
their server-side parsing of the user agent string.

** Summary changed:

- Unable to access a radissonhotels.com website using FireFox on Ubuntu
+ radissonhotels.com fails to display website because of UA string

** Changed in: firefox (Ubuntu)
   Importance: Undecided => Low

Title:
radissonhotels.com fails to display website because of UA string

Status in firefox package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
The following error is received using Firefox to attempt to access the
  URL referenced below:

  Access Denied
You don't have permission to access "http://www.radissonhotels.com/?; on this
server.

  Reference #18.1dd13017.1614357560.fe51a

Fresh install of Ubuntu Mate 20.04, with updates. No plugins added to
  FF.

  Firefox version is 85.0.1

I am able to access the site on the same system with Chrome
  (v88.0.4324.182)

I can also access the site via Firefox on the following systems:

  Windows 10 - FF v85.02
  MacOS 10.13.6 - FF v86.0
  CentOS 7- FF v78.7.0esr

All operating systems / software are 64-bit.

I am entering this issue here as it is only the combination of Ubuntu
Mate with the latest FF pkg from the repository that I am having
  issues accessing the site.

I tried that already. It does not start and very little in the way of
feedback.

  * Refreshed patches:
- 0001-Allow-using-obexd-without-systemd-in-the-user-sessio.patch
- 0001-obex-Use-GLib-helper-function-to-manipulate-paths.patch
- 0002-hostname-handle-chassis-type-handset.patch

python3 then please propose it upstream. Otherwise we do still package
bluez-tests, and if you really need to run them then use your own python2.

gedit in groovy depends on libtepl-5-0. It would be great if the
package also depended on gir1.2-tepl-5 so that gedit plugins written
in Python can call functions from tepl.

2021-03-01 Thread Olivier Tilloy
That sounds similar to bug #1917191.

Can you open a terminal, type "firefox --safe-mode" followed by Enter,
and let us know whether the application starts? If not, what is
displayed in the terminal window?

  The latest kernel tree
  (https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git)
has the complete solution to fix this bug. So we can expect kernel
v5.11 to fix this issue without any additional work.

Before the release of v5.11, you are suggested to use #189 to save your
touchpad. Note that for distributions like Ubuntu and Fedora, the pinctrl-amd
driver is built into the initramfs. So you have to rebuild the initramfs after
replacing the old module with new one.
On Fedora, run `sudo dracut --force`; On ubuntu, run `sudo update-initramfs
-u`.

The complete solution is three patches,
   - 47a0001436352c9853d72bf2071e85b316d688a2 ("pinctrl: amd: remove debounce
filter setting in IRQ type setting")
   - 06abe8291bc31839950f7d0362d9979edc88a666 ("pinctrl: amd: fix incorrect way
to disable debounce filter")
   - 8dcb7a15a585b6d0fee15751ce11d7a68cfedd56 ("gpiolib: acpi: Take into
account debounce settings")

The first two patches has reached the stable tree. If the last one is
also backported to LTS kernel, you won't need to install kernel 5.11.
But I don't know when this will happen.

Bug description:
As we introduced the "-server" NVIDIA drivers, and the concept of
"LTSB" (Long Term Support Branch) and "NFB" (New Feature Branch)
releases, the detection logic behind ubuntu-drivers needs an update to
make the correct choices for the user.

The introduction of the NVIDIA 450 series, also added runtime power
management, which greatly improves user experience on systems with
hybrid graphics, and allows greater power savings. When supported, on-
demand mode and runtime power management are the default. Both gpu-
manager and ubuntu-drivers in ubuntu drivers common, and the tools in
the nvidia-prime package need updating as a result.

The nvidia-prime package also has a change to fix a problem where
/lib/udev/rules.d/50-pm-nvidia.rules was left behind, after a system
upgrade 20.04 LTS (focal) to 20.10 (groovy), and yet prime-select had
lost the ability to remove the udev rules file, leaving the end user
with no means to re-enable his/her Nvidia GPU.

Only the components in Ubuntu 20.10 require a fairly small diff for
the backport. The rest is a direct sync of the 1:0.8.6.3 release in
  21.04.

  [Impact]

  * The ubuntu-drivers tool might install the wrong driver, or, in some
cases, crash, if the new -server drivers are available.

  * The new runtime power management can't be used even when the
hardware (Turing GPUs or newer) supports it.

  * We want to the default drivers to be Long Term support releases.
Users may still pick different drivers manually.

  [Fix]

  * The code in Ubuntu 21.04 includes essential bug fixes, and more test
cases in the test suite, to make sure that driver installation is more
robust, and more accurate (LTSB vs NFB releases, and non-server vs
  -server releases).

  * ubuntu-drivers, gpu-manager, and prime-select now all support
  runtime power management.

  [Test Case]
Install ubuntu-drivers-common and nvidia-prime from proposed, and check the
following:

  1) ubuntu-drivers debug

  2) Make sure no nvidia driver is installed (sudo apt-get --purge
remove '*nvidia*', and try installing an nvidia driver with "sudo
  ubuntu-drivers install"

  3) Reboot your system

  4) [optional] If you are running on a hybrid laptop, you can check if
your system supports runtime power management:

  sudo prime-select on-demand

(if you are already in "on-demand" mode, select "intel" mode first,
  then try "on-demand" again)

  5) If you followed step 4, reboot again

  6) Attach your /var/log/gpu-manager.log

  [Regression Risk]
Medium, while this code includes many fixes, it needs careful testing.

Similar experience here with refresh-app-awareness + no robust-mount-

breaking. Restart fixed it. Might just be a Chromium anomaly I wouldn't
attribute to snap.

Title:
  New poppler transition is ongoing

Status in poppler package in Ubuntu:
  Triaged

Bug description:
The bug is there to summarize the status of that transition for the
  proposed migration report

  Rebuilds are done but

  - libreoffice needs to migrate and it's autopkgtest are failing,
that's fixed in the packaging Vcs and an upload is planned in the next
  day once 7.1.1 is out

  - gdal needs to migrate which is blocked on r-cran-sf/s390x failing tests,
that has been reported to Debian now
https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=961211
and a fix has been uploaded which is going to be synced next

  - if the fix works r-cran-stars needs a similar change

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1917302] [NEW] Brother HL-L3270CDW msg 'Waiting for job to complete' even though it has ended

2021-03-01 Thread foxinsocks
Public bug reported:

Things may be related. I can initiate any print job, it completes but
the above message persists. If I try to print more than ONE copy of a
document or image only one is printed. This is not only disappointing
and frustrating but time-wasting and frustrating. And it seems I'm not
the only one to have this experience.

Bug description:
The Ubuntu universe has a big Wayland problem!

  What does that mean?

So a lot of packages in the Universe repository are not compiled with
Wayland support which is really bad and would lead to bad performance
  after 21.04 comes out.

Here are the following packages that I detected with wrong
  compilation:

telegram-desktop (Wayland support work with snap version)
  kiwix
firefox (everything works fine with this env variable
set:"MOZ_ENABLE_WAYLAND=1")
