the same thing happens with me.... wired mouse works in and but touchpad
is incompatible i am on lenovo ideapad 330

  Hardware: Lenovo ideapad 320, AMD A12 processor
  AMD A12-9720P RADEON R7, 12 COMPUTE CORES 4C+8G × 4 

  Software: Ubuntu Mate 17.10
  Description:  Ubuntu Artful Aardvark (development branch)
  Release:      17.10

  Expected Behavior: Touchpad working.

  Actual Behavior: Touchpad works for about 30 or fewer seconds on boot,
  then doesn't work again until reboot. Dmesg shows nothing happening
  when it stops working.

  Let me know if I need to do anything.
