There are deleted LXD snaps (I think from upgrades, but I'm not sure)

loop devices that have accumulated on this system. I'm not sure how
to get rid of them. I think the intention is that snaps do not show
up in these two places, so I'm filing this bug. Apologies for filing
on snapd, I'm not entirely sure where it should go. I'm expecting
that snapd may not be correctly removing or tagging the devices as
ones to skip in gnome-disks and nautilus.

  ii snapd 2.39.2+19.04
  ii gnome-disk-utility 3.32.1-1ubuntu1
  ii nautilus 1:3.32.1-0ubuntu0.19.04.0

  I'm running Disco currently.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1822073] [NEW] Bluetooth headset profile forgotten after disconnection

2019-03-28 Thread Adam Collard
Public bug reported:

Similar to bug 1283003, after connecting my Bluetooth headset (Sony WH-
1000X M3) they appear in Gnome Control Centre's Sound tab but are not
selectable.

I've narrowed down the circumstances to reproduce the bug as follows:

1. Start with working sound through Bluetooth to headset
2. In pavucontrol's Configuration tab, note that headset is listed with A2DP
profile
3. Disconnect (power off) the headset
4. Note that sound comes out of fallback device (as expected)
5. Power on the headset and reconnect to Bluetooth
6. Look in Gnome Control Centre and note the headset appears in Sound, but is
not selectable (buggy)
7. In pavucontrol's Configuration tab, note headset is listed with "Off"
8. Manually switch to A2DP
9. At the point, we have to cycle the connection again (disconnect/reconnect)
and then sound is once more routed to the headset.

Bug description:
  [Impact]
GNOME Software can show incorrect version of snap that will be installed on
details page.

  [Test Case]
  1. Open GNOME Software. Ensure blender or spotify snap is not installed.
  2. Select blender or spotify snap (tried 28-04-2018, may change if store
versions are changed)

  Expected result:
Version label shows version to be installed (stable channel by default)

  Observed result:
Version label shows most recently uploaded version, i.e. from the edge
channel. This is not the version that will be installed when clicking install.

  [Regression Potential]
The logic around choosing which version value to show was changed. Could
create other bugs with this data.

  Orignial text:

Ubuntu Software, when showing metadata about a snap package, is most
of the time, likely to get information which is misleading, since it
shows info from the *most recently* uploaded snap, regardless of which
channel the snap was uploaded to.

An example of this is to search for blender, and see that the version
shows the edge channel - 2.80-4de142e0b7b and not the stable channel -
  2.79.

After actually installing the application, the correct metadata is
  shown.

  exposed-in-some-situations/5163 for more details.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1617098] Re: Add support for option max-routes

2017-02-24 Thread Adam Collard
** Description changed:

- Hi,
+ [Impact]

- Currently in Ubuntu 16.04 network-manager-openvpn does not support the
openvpn --max-routes switch.
- This means that per omission the VPN connection supports 100 routes that can
be pushed by the openvpn server to the client. If the openvpn server pushes
more 100 routes, which can happen in some cases, the VPN establishment fails.
+ network-manager-openvpn does not support the openvpn --max-routes switch.
+ This means that per omission the VPN connection supports 100 routes that can
be pushed by the openvpn server to the client. If the openvpn server pushes
more than 100 routes, the VPN establishment fails.

  From OpenVPN manual:
  "--max-routes n
Allow a maximum number of n --route options to be specified, either in the
local configuration file, or pulled from an OpenVPN server. By default, n=100."

- Can you do one of the following?
- - Fully support max-routes in the GUI, with an option to choose the value of
the max-routes
- or, simpler:
- - Do not implement the max-routes in the GUI but add '--max-routes 500' for
example for all openvpn connection establishments. I mean increase the number
of maximum routes for all openvpn connections with network-manager.
+ The attached patch comes from upstream's fix (see linked Gnome bug) and
+ adds a new option to the NM Advanced section for network-manager-

2017-02-20 Thread Adam Collard
Here's a debdiff (I had trouble generating locally, so actually grabbed
this from LP after uploading to a PPA) to fix this in Xenial.

It simply cherry-picks the diff from upstream. Since my VPN endpoint is
no longer pushing > 100 routes, I haven't been able to test this
functionally, but can see the new field in the UI (as expected).

I had this issue and then purged my system of the Intel Linux Graphics

trusty-updates as appropriate. After doing that I was successfully able
to install 14.04.2 using the Utopic HWE stack.

  Possible catch all solution:
  $ sudo apt-get install .*-dev-lts-utopic

  [Speculation]
Control file of libgles2-mesa-dev-lts-utopic 10.3.2-0ubuntu1~trusty2 does
look right imho:
  http://debian-handbook.info/browse/stable/sect.package-meta-information.html

Guess APT just get overwhelmed by the possibilies and aborts before
  finding the right one.

Is there some SAT-solver, which could conform? Aptitude's resolver fails, too.
Could control files be tweaked to make resolving easier?

  [Possible affected packages]
Possible all packages which have dependencies on *-mesa-dev for which there's
an updated version in the LTS Enablement Stacks.
  Roughly:
  $ apt-cache rdepends .*-mesa-dev

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1382774] Re: Postgresql installation for MAAS fails on locales missing language packs

2014-11-12 Thread Adam Collard
I doubt this is a dbconfig-common issue - note that the issue is that
the PostgreSQL *cluster* is missing, not the databases.

Confirmed my own theory, if I do this again with having LC_ALL in
/etc/default/locale set to en_US.UTF-8 then I get a cluster as expected.
