[Desktop-packages] [Bug 114928] Re: Problem with special characters?

2022-07-07 Thread Andreas Weller
For the 15th birthday of this bug ;-)
I don't use PPTP in my server installations anymore - not only, but also due to
this bug. Therefore I can't provide an upstream bug report.

Title:
  Problem with special characters?

Status in network-manager-pptp package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: network-manager-pptp

  Hi!
I try to connect to a Win 2003 server via PPTP VPN with Networkmanager
(gnome). It works with pptpconfig but not with NM.
  Syslog:
  May 16 00:58:54 andreas-laptop pptp[7183]: anon
warn[ctrlp_disp:pptp_ctrl.c:955]: Non-zero Async Control Character Maps are not
supported!
  May 16 00:58:54 andreas-laptop pppd[7178]: nm-pppd-plugin: CHAP credentials
requested.
  May 16 00:58:54 andreas-laptop pppd[7178]: MS-CHAP authentication failed:
E=691 Authentication failure
  May 16 00:58:54 andreas-laptop pppd[7178]: CHAP authentication failed

I had to write the password in quotation marks in pptpconfig as it contains
special characters like &%$. I tried it with "" and without it in NM. But it
doesn't work - so NM is not good for strong passwords???
  Anyone confirm this issue?

  Regards,
Andreas Weller

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1442406] Re: Can't unlock UMTS modem with PIN

2015-04-19 Thread Andreas Weller
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1424362 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1424362

The workaround at #1424362 works.
Finally I can unlock 3G modem's SIM.

So I'll mark this bug as duplicate.

But now it asks once for the PIN and then for the current user's
password. Is this really necessary?

Regards,
  Andreas

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1363430] Re: ABORT: Aborting on channel error.: file /build/buildd/firefox-31.0+build1/ipc/glue/MessageChannel.cpp

2014-09-13 Thread Andreas Weller
It seems this bug is related to a known issue with the Intel GPU Kernel driver.
strace output shows write(2, intel_do_flush_locked failed: In...,
47intel_do_flush_locked failed: Invalid argument
) = 47 near the end...

Are other affected users also using Intel GPUs? If so please link it to
the kernel or xserver-xorg-video-intel.

2014-09-13 Thread Andreas Weller
I found a website which crashes Firefox repeatable: http://www.rtl-sdr.com/
But this bug seems to be related to xserver-xorg-video-intel
Switching AccelMethod to uxa in /etc/X11/xorg.conf seems to prevent Firefox
from crashing with this error message...
FYI: My system uses an Intel Mobile 4 GPU [8086:2a42] with Kernel driver i915

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 960141] [NEW] Frequent crashes after firefox 11 update

2012-03-20 Thread Andreas Weller
Public bug reported:

After firefox updated to version 11 it frequently crashes. Sometimes it
even instantly Segfaults after a restart...

Unfortunately this is a really annoying behaviour - it never occurred
with any version 11

  Andreas Weller
