Thanks for the heads up. I upgraded Chromium to
90.0.4430.72-0ubuntu0.16.04.1 and it's working fine here as well.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1863608] Re: version 80 does not start using remote display (X11)

2020-05-03 Thread Benjamin Cahill
Olivier,

When I had version 81.0.4044.113 installed for testing, it would crash.
I figured this was because it was not a final version. However, it looks
like version 81.0.4044.122 is now in the repos, and it crashes as well.
I had to revert to v79 again to get chromium to work (although I think
v80 would have worked with the environment variable fix). This seems
very fragile.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1863608] Re: version 80 does not start using remote display (X11)

2020-04-22 Thread Benjamin Cahill
Olivier,

1. --no-xshm fixes the problem.

2. The following environment variables fix the problem:
export QT_X11_NO_MITSHM=1
export _X11_NO_MITSHM=1
export _MITSHM=0

3. Version 81.0.4044.113-0ubuntu0.16.04.1 from https://launchpad.net
/~canonical-chromium-builds/+archive/ubuntu/stage does not fix the
problem.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1863608] Re: version 80 does not start using remote display (X11)

2020-02-17 Thread Benjamin Cahill
Same issue (version 80.0.3987.87-0ubuntu0.16.04.1 on 16.04 Xenial),
although mine shows up as yellow-green. Downgrading to
79.0.3945.130-0ubuntu0.16.04.1 fixed the problem.

For others experiencing the problem, I was able to find the three needed
files (referenced in the bug description) here: https://launchpad.net
